Broadcom Coding with Commitment® in Action: Ronan Lyons Inspires at Broadcom Cork

Broadcom Cork employees gave rousing congratulations to Broadcom Coding with Commitment® winner Ronan Lyons during a special visit to the Cork office by Broadcom Foundation president Paula Golden and CFO Maria Wronski.
Ronan and his parents came to Cork from the Midlands so that he could be honored as the inaugural winner of the Broadcom Coding with Commitment® $10,000 award presented by Maria at the 2026 Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair.
“Over 1600 projects were considered by the foundation team, and Ronan’s project was selected out of the final 300,” said Wronski. “His project satisfied the twin criteria of applying coding to solve a community problem he cared about that aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #3: Good Health and Well-Being.”
Engineers at the Broadcom office were entranced with Ronan’s presentation about his medication dispensary system designed for persons with disabilities. There were wide ranging questions that followed from the audience, and an enthusiastic offer to mentor Ronan as he continues to develop his device.
The visit to Cork was the second of three stops by foundation leadership. They attended “Raspberry Fields,” a global conference of the Raspberry Pi Foundation partners in Cambridge. Following their Cork visit they went to Prague to meet with Broadcom Inc. employees to learn about a local Code Club that partners with Raspberry Pi Foundation. Follow along for more!
