Malaysia National AI Challenge
Penang Science Cluster and Broadcom Malaysia launch the first Malaysian National AI Challenge, with the support of the Ministry of Education.
In the ever-expanding partnership between the Broadcom Foundation, Broadcom Malaysia and the Penang Science Cluster (PSC), a new program showcasing skills and ingenuity with coding in AI has been launched in Penang.
In addition to Coolest Projects Malaysia 2026 that is underway and Experience AI 2026, which successfully concluded the teacher training phase for 630 educators and 9,226 students across five states in June, PSC has launched the National AI Challenge 2026, which garnered 307 initial submissions from 614 students. The advanced workshops are currently underway zone by zone, nationwide.
AI literacy opens up career opportunities and offers solutions to real-world challenges. Broadcom Foundation and PSC partner with the Raspberry Pi Foundation to provide its free coding and Experience AI resources for Malaysia’s National AI Challenge, where participants solve real-world challenges.
Low Siong-Wah, Broadcom Inc.’s Vice President of Global Operations represents the company and its foundation at this very important inaugural event. “Broadcom Foundation’s support for this exciting new program is consistent with the innovative spirit of Broadcom Malaysia and its desire to see that young people throughout the nation have the digital and AI skills they need to be the creators of the future at companies like ours," said Low Siong-Wah.
Broadcom Foundation has partnered with Penang Science Cluster since 2020 to attract participation by young people from across the country.
“The Penang Science Cluster (PSC) partnership with Broadcom Malaysia and our Foundation has put PSC at the international forefront of design and implementation of digital and AI literacy programs for students and teachers,” said Paula Golden, President, Broadcom Foundation. “It is now routine practice for our Foundation to reach out to Penang Science Cluster to share best practices with science museums throughout the world."
